I purchased a "gravid" female mali from deer fern farms about 3 weeks ago. She has not laid any eggs yet nor has she gained any egg weight although she has good body weight. I was wondering what the normal duration between copulation and egg laying is for malis and if any one has any good tips on preventing egg binding just in case she is gravid? I have had 2 nesting boxes in her cage set up as on the deer fern web site one in the hot end and one in the cool before her arrival. Her basking spot is about 117 degrees and the coolest spot is about 88 degrees with an average tank temp in the mid to upper 90's.
