With greens, if a female has the size (10 to 12 ft.) and enough body weight to ovulate, the youngest I know of to produce was bred at 3.5 years of age. But in most cases you are probably looking at 4.5 years as the soonest they will bred successfully in captivity. Males seem to mature more rapidly, as I have a 2.5 year old male that is a little over 8 feet and he has been producing sperm plugs for several weeks now. Females in the wild probably don't produce their first litters until their 5th or 6th year at best. They just don't have the food availability and low energy budget of their captive counterparts.
