thanks to living art for this one! i got this beautiful female today in the mail and boy oh boy shes worth every penny. i hope i can find her a male at the reptile show. she was driving my crested gecko, stimpy, wild when he saw her, he usually is very peaceful until you handle him, but he saw her and went nuts! good thing im getting him a girl this weekend at the reptile show.

come on! you know ill have a pic up real soon, but im just letting her get acclimated first. this is my first time actually ordering a gecko online and it was a difficult decision to get her, but now that shes here im not regretting it at all. i noticed her eating her very first night, which im sure is a good sign! ill get pics of her this weekend when i get a new tank for her at the reptile show, and who knows, maybe even a male for her.

Sounds cool, getting a male for her (maybe at the show, good luck)

Hey by the way how is your beautiful, sick little girl doing? Any better?

well, shes still literally hanging in there. she just hangs around on the vines all day, but she definitely moves around and can get herself from the ground up to the top. shes still eating too, which is good news. as for the infection or whatever it is, it seemed to die down a lil, but never really totally got better. im pondering taking her back into the vet to see if there really isnt anything else they can do.

try everything, Maybe she just needs time to heal.

I sure hope so!

we'll see. if it goes too long, she might lose too much muscle in the hind limbs to use them. we'll see. anyways, heres one of the pics, you can see the other in the photo gallery.

i showed up extra early this morning to the reptile show, and got REAL lucky. i found a pair of pietschmanni for $200, so i snatched them up. i absolutely cannot wait to get them breeding, but of course they gotta spend some time away from one another to make sure no parasites are around. also got a new pair of phantasticus, and the male i got has some wicked long eyelashes. nice coloring on them too, hopefully they'll breed so i will end up having 2 separate cb phantasticus bloodlines. surprisingly, i could only find one adult female crested gecko at the whole show, and she was gravid. i turned her down because i wanted a flame, and she was a dark brown, plus i figured the stress of carrying eggs wouldnt be good on her. but im still thrilled at what i got!!!! more pics soon to come!

i am doing this for the most part for myself, as a college student i dont have the time or money for a full-fledged breeding project. once i graduate, i am considering making a bigger thing of it, especially if i am successful again this year. i am only working with a single pair of phantasticus right now, plus ive got a female who has been sick for almost a month (still trying to heal her), as well as 3 juvenile babies from last year (two males, one female). i have the trio of pietschmanni now, and ive got my fingers crossed that i will have success with them. perhaps next year, if i have a few more phantasticus than i can deal with, there will be some to unload. however, there are a few people who have contacted me on here and kept in touch who will more likely be my first choice in buyers. with such a small group, i have become very attached to the ones i have. another hurdle is i am very skeptical about shipping, and when i decide to sell some i will probably only leave the offer open to those who are willing to pick the babies up themselves from here in raleigh. lets just see how it turns out.

Glad you got some pietschmanni. I hope you get some babies then we can maybe exchange some and get a cbb line going. Anyway here are some pics of my female.
