crazybilly Apr 30, 2004 12:30 AM

i was just wondering if anyone uses infared bulbs and are they better than reg ones, i am just wondering if it would be allright to get a infared and leave it on during the night so the temp doesnt drop off too much there are still eggs hatching now .... just wondering what other peoples setups are like.

Eggs usually go in a incubator? Heat element no light? What do you have?

Hi
congratulations with the hatching eggs
first 24 houre you can leave them in incubator and then you can put them in a normal cage.
with normal temps during day and night !110 under baskingspot and round the 80 on the cooler side.
only if the temp drops at night more then 55 then i would use a ceramicheater .

If you MUST use a night time heat source I would suggest a heat emitter set on a thermostat. Or leave the babies in the incubator for the first 24 hours or so...

All my babies are put straight into tanks as they hatch and I don't leave them in the incubator for the first 24 hours. As long as your night time temps don't dip below 60 or so, you should be fine.
