my little pig ate too much

lizzylizard Apr 30, 2004 04:01 AM

I started to think that I wasn't feeding my leos enough because they kept trying to bite each others tails. Two of them are huge pigs, and one has not been eating as much as them. So last night I gave them about 15 butterworms, well the little blizzard ate all of them except 1 (which the other pig, Albino ate). After the blizzard (who had a very big tummy) lay down, I put in about 20 crickets because the little hypo won't eat the worms. I really wanted the little one to get his fair share. As soon as I put in the crickets the blizzard woke up and went to work eating almost all of them again. I managed to get the little one to eat about 6 crickets.

Tonight they still all seem so full, so I am not going to feed them. I know I over-fed the blizzard, I will separate him next feeding. Is there anything I can do to help him out? he's tummy is pretty big and a bit lumpy. He did just take a poop though, I think that is a good thing. Poor little pig, it was twice as big as normal.

After all of this I know separation is a must. I don't want to have to separate them at every feeding. I am getting a custom made tank with 4 separate enclosures (room for one more , I'm thinking AFT), which should be done in a couple of weeks. What would you all reccommend doing untill then? Should I put them in separate tupperwear bins? Thanks for any replies,

Lisa

If you have an empty tank you could put your blizzard in there and feed him while you are feeding your other leo.

seperate the one that isn't eating from the rest. Looks like it is submissive to the blizzard. Also, leos usually dont overeat so dont be to worried about it. Give it like an extra day to digest so it doesn't regurge from to much food. sounds like yours would try to eat a rat.

they are ravenous little buggers. I would't be surprised if mine eats like 50 mealies tonight seeing as how she hasn't ate in 3 days (ive been sick, dont wanna handle her food).
