Hello all, im new to carpets but not new to snakes. Right now i have a pair of Hogisland boas that i am considering trading for a female carpet. Im hoping to aquire a male and possibly breed. I have an absolutly GIGANTIC enclosure that i would like to house them in. Its 6X6X8 (LXWXH), the temps are perfect as well as the lighting, i have a small pond and assorted live plants that keep the humidity very good. my question is will a pair of carpets thirive in this enclosure, and will they utilize all off the available space or just sit under the basking spots and never move? im not expecting the activity of a bearded dragon or any thing of that nature, i realize these are snakes, but i just dont want that beautiful enclosure to go to waste. let me know what you guys think. oh and if anyone wants to see the cage let me know ill take some pics!

About the size man thats huge. Those are feet correct? What snakes did you keep in a 8ft high cage? That wouldn't make sense for your boas. Did you just close off a section of a room? I wouldn't think you could get the correct humidity in a space that big, but maybe with the pond. I wouldn't put anything but a full grown Carpet Python in an enclosure that big. I'm sure at night it would cruise around and use all the space though. Definitely post some pics.

The cage I recently got isnt this big, but still farely large. Its 4x3x4 (LxWxH) feet. It took a lot of heating lamps and lights and so forth to get the temp and Humidity correct, but its perfect. I think what helps the humidity in mine is the live plant. Plus the snake loves it.

Also, my carpet isnt that Big yet and she still uses the whole cage. I find that since there is a variety of temps in the cage since its so large she like to go everywhere.
