I am never one to try and disuade someone from something that they want. All I ask of you is to ensure that you have done thorough research and that you know what you are getting into and the duration in which you are expecting to own this animal.
ensire that what you are looking at is indeed an alligator and not a caimon. Many petstores mislabel crocadillians. Alligators can be tamed down but I have never seen a caimon that was handlable. Caimons are almost exclusivly aggressive and defensive and get large enough to cause serious damage to someone. Secondly understand that even though an alligator can be tamed down I wouldn't go and say that they can ever be completely trusted. They are still wild animals and should be treated with the utmost of respect and caution should always be used when working with them, no matter how docile they seem to be. lastly, be prepared to care and house this animal for 50 plus years. they have an incredible lifespan and getting one with out the intent to care for it for its whole life is unfair to the animal. Good luck, Todd

thank you very much for the opinion. I am carefully considering it. they have a 75 year lifespan lol so i would be 95..haha.
