fruitionx May 13, 2003 01:30 PM

hi i am going away from thursday morning to sunday night...If i feed my uro on thursday morning a big meal and leave him about a cup of dry food do you think he would be ok for the weekend or no? just wondering because i don't know if i can get anyone to come over. My cage is on a timer. I know it sounds like i'm a terrible owner but ive never had a plant only eating reptile...now i have one and i love him. I am just wondering...and for next weekend i am going away for friday morning to sunday night you think that is ok?

Uros have been know to survive in lean times on nothing but camel dung. He should be fine, especially if you fatten him up with some super nutritious bee pollen, juicy peas (good water), and the like. Just don't leave in anything that will rot and get him sick... I think. I haven't had such a problem yet, but collard greens for instance get pretty nasty after a while.

Good luck and don't worry. Look forward to how happy he will be when you return!

P.S. He should have some good substrate. I think if he were on newspaper for instance, it could get nasty in a short time.

Why don't you leave a lot of the Juvi Iguana food? My uro loves it supplemented in his food. I think it could survive fairly well on that for the weekend.

I have left my uros for the weekend a few times and everything is always ok. I just make sure to leave lots of greens and dried split peas. Mine are so fat anyways! Have fun and don't worry about them, everything should be fine!
