Im going out of town for a few days, can I leave beardies in the dark?

I have no one to care for my beardies, can I leave them in a dark room for a few days? Wont they just go into hibernation mode and be fine for 3days?

Why not get a timer, so the lights go on and off by themselves?

ummm, why don't you just like get like a 10 dollar timer from homedepot, that way you won't hafta worry about the lights ever again, lol

The problem is I have no one to feed them and clean up after them, not the lights. I do have a timer already.

Then you aren't leaving them in the dark, just hungry. They will be fine for three days, reptiles can go for a very long time without food.

They will be fine for 3 days without food depending on their age...how old are they? Just give them a bunch of food before you go, stock up their plates with greens and you should be fine. Lizards go for long periods of time without food in the wild. I would not leave them if they are under 100 grams though...

They are all about a year old. One is a small one. I just think there will be such a mess with their feces everywhere if they are eating and going to the bathroom the whole time. If I'm not there to clean up, they are quite a mess in just a few hours! They have a huge cage my husband built, but they always seem to step in their mess and get it everywhere!
