Luna spent the day outside

lele Apr 30, 2004 03:41 PM

it was up into the 80's today. a bit too toasty for me but I knew Luna would be happy! She was a little pissy when I went ot get her out of her cage but once she was outside in her sunning cage she smiled ....well....

I was busy doing "stuff" around the house as well as cleaning and redoing her cage. I gave her a new laying box and put it in a different place in her cage in the hopes that she will get this over with. I am hoping that all the warmth and sun will get things moving!

YA know. my female would not lay her eggs with the laying bucket in her cage, I put her in the big laying bucket with a branch wrapped in vines..she still would not lay. I took the branch out and the next morning she was down an 18 inch hole. Maybe you should try this...

where do you have the bucket? I don't really have another place that I can put her safely with just the tub. She has showed NO signs of digging or even looking for a place yet. The new one I put in is a little deeper and I located where it is a bit more secluded. But I don't feel I can do much of anything until she shows signs of at least looking She is still eating. Just had 2 crickets (small)

Since these are infertile I don't care if she drops them from a perch! LOL!

I actually just use a VERY large plant pot, its sitting on my back porch. My female never showed any signs of laying either, she ate while in the laying bucket lol. I never saw any signs of her digging in the bucket in her cage either, my neighbor told me she saw her walking around in it thats it, so I dropped her in the laying bucket, she ran to the top of the brance in it and stayed there. a few hours later I took the branch out and later she started making test holes. I put the branch back in for her to sleep and the next day took it back out...that night I had 21 cute little eggs...fertile though so I guess that makes them cuter
