Curious, what is everyones second favorite breed of snake they can afford.

Whether you have it or wishing you had it.I know we would all love to have a crazy morph of some type but I was thinking more realistically. One day I will own some type of dwarf yellow head reticulated python, they are beautiful looking snakes with orange eyes.If they didn't get so big I'd definatly have a few already.

I'm probably with ya on the retics, I absolutely love the super tigers.. but I have no room for something that large ..currently I also like Brazilian Rainbow's alot and have owned a few in the past.. but I sold them, and kick myself for that every day..

...and unfortunately she passed away on my birthday last year (great way to turn 27, huh?). Necropsy revealed a portosystemic shunt in her liver - basically a congenital time bomb. Something I'd heard of in certain dog breeds, but had no idea it would ever happen to a snake. The pic below was taken at least 12 hours post-mortem, so you can imagine what she looked like alive & vibrant.

RIP "Catey Face"

Thanks for the kind words on Tango - he's my dream boa!!!!!

Oh man, sorry for your loss.I was just thinking of the movie Tango and Cash with Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell.Man Cate was another beauty also that was too bad, and to top it off on your birthday, well atleast she'll be remembered.

Hey the first time I saw a brazilian I said man I have to have one of those snakes. The pet stores said they were to hard to keep so I went with ball pythons for my first snakes.Brazilians are beautiful snakes but don't get big enough to my likings. I get to see my buddies brazilians any time and take care of them when he's out of town so that satisfies any needs to have to buy one.Bloods are still number one though.

yea if retics weren'tsooo big i'd have 6 already.. same with burms lol I'm looking into a dwarf but they still seem to big quite large. Gaboon viper is probably at the top of the list. I personally don't think I would ever own a hot snake unless I had an outside facility to house it in (along with a retic ..lol) The last thing I need is to have something like that running around my apartment..lol...... dwar burmese are way to expensive or I would have bought a pair already. I love burms but can devote proper space.

Oh man, you had to throw the 'affordable' and 'realistic' in there, didn't you?

Well, if i had the space, i would LOVE to get a yellowhead or tiger Retic. I could afford it, but don't know how realistic it is.

I'd like to pick up a BCC at some point. Definitly more realistic, but then it usually comes down to another blood vs. Boa. never an easy decision :P I really like the look of laddertails though

AND, just to be completely unrealistic...If i had a ton to blow, i would pick up a Boelen's. Those guys look incredible.

Hey I like the guyanans also, almost picked up one about 6 months ago but I decided to stick with the bloods.I've seen some really crazy deep purple maroon tailed guyanans that nothing compares to.How big do they max out anyway.
