Heat and humidity tolerance for leos

gekkogirl Apr 30, 2004 04:11 PM

Does anyone successfully keep their leos on an unairconditioned porch in summer? My climate here in Florida is very humid in the summer, but my screened porch is fairly shady and has two ceiling fans for air flow

Coo, I live in Melborne. I have thought of it and din't want to try. I just didn't want anything to go wrong. But I can't think of anyhting that could as long as you keep it out of rains way.

Of course you have to bring the cage in at Winter, still gets to 30 degrees.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep a close eye on them this summer and see how they do.

Hey!

I don't really think that would be good on the geckos, since they are native to a very dry climate. Here in Texas, where it's also like 100% humid during the summer, I know for a fact that my geckos would not be able to stand it, it's too harsh on their little lungs. Sorry and take care.

I have a thermostat on my fans, but I have no control over the humidity. I guess I'll move them back inside when the really sultry weather gets here. Thanks for all your help.
