Need some advice regarding a newly arrived large adult Yellowfoot female that has eggs that are obvious on each side of her tail. No doubt she is under stress and I have no adea how long she has been gravid. When they reach that point will she lay immediately? Or could she be egg bound? She is eating, alert, pooping, and seems fine otherwise. I have another adult female that I believe to be gravid also. Her eggs are not obvious, however. She is way overdue in depositing her eggs. How dangerous is Oxytocin for tortoises? What is the best route to follow? Nothing? Let her settle in and hopefully she will lay? Take them to the vet for injection of Oxytocin? What are the symptoms of being eggbound?
