Cool looking Albino, but more background info is needed on him. What Strain he is and if he was used in breeding this season and did he go through a recent color change??? Where was he acquired?
I have seen this color change in a few of my male 'Kahl' Strain Albinos every breeding season. It seems with the environmental change and maybe stress from breeding they loose their yellow/orange colors and go almost lavender. The males that have done this seem to go back to their normal color a few weeks after they have been pulled from the females and set back up in their old cages and returned to feeding.
Would love to hear a little more about him, and just thought I would add my experience and input.

The changes you're describing to be hormonal in nature, and, possibly something that is more noticable because of amelanistic appearence? just a guess???

I aquired this male along with a female at the 98 Expo in Orlando. The guy I got him from said they were from the Brian Sharp line. The female (gravid now!) also has lavender, but not as intense. You are right about him going more lavender during the breeding period but he has always had it. I can't wait to see the babies!
