Brown Snake Care Info?

elcheal Apr 30, 2004 04:55 PM

I hope to keep a baby brown snake that I found today. He/she is 5 1/2" ling right now and darn tiny! I need some help with the care requirements. The information that I've found on the internet has been vague at best. It would be great if someone could give me information on:
-Tank size
-Tank Set-up
-What to feed and when
-Supplies I'll need
-Anything else that I need to know

ANY information at all on any of these subjects would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

I am very fortunate to have two of the hungriest brown snakes ever seen. I keep two together in a 10 gallon enclosure. For substrate, use something they can burrow into. I also use several hiding places. For food, I buy worms from a bait store and cut them into small pieces. I put the pieces in a small container and change them out every two days. Mine are doing great.

No, a temperature of around 75 degrees to 80 is good.

No heat source is necessary as long as the room you have it in is of adequate temp. Mine stay at 70-75 degrees. Good luck.

My brown snakes are kept on reptile carpet and i just build little lego hides for them to stay in and they love it, i feed them worms that i find outside and i just feed them whole. if i find slugs i feed them that too.
