Anyone had problems with tubs sitting directly on Flexwatt in a rack?

AshleyM Apr 30, 2004 06:28 PM

Hey all - I'm about to start construction on a Markus Jayne-style rack ( The Markus Jayne Rack) with 11" Flexwatt belly heat. I was wondering if anyone has had problems with tubs sitting directly on the Flexwatt - does sliding the tub over the Flexwatt cause premature wear/damage? Is it better to router a groove in the shelf for the Flexwatt to sit down in? Thanks for any input.

I have both and yes cut out the grove. with out it you catch the end of it and rip it up, bend it. I glued, taped (what a mess) dont use tape. the tote rub them yes over time the will wear out and short. if lucky wont damage anything. Use the grove! The only problem I have had is once in a while I have to push down on the tub when it catches the grove. Thats it.
the 4" flex watt is what I use. Works for me well!

I assume you mean "groove" and not "grove" - thanks for the reply...
