Megalania

I was just looking up some infor on Megalania, and found a lot of it to be interesting. I found a lot of reports of sightings, what do you all think? Could it still be out there? I read about some respectable herpetologist that sighted one, but I'm not sure. What do you all have to say? Thanks for your time.

Surely a 7 metre lizard couldn't go unnoticed for 200 years???

Although the outback is remote, it's relatively well travelled, and what people do live there are quite well spread out.
