My baby died...

buffysmom Apr 30, 2004 08:44 PM

The other day. He suddenly developed extreme weakness in his bottom 1/2, took on a wrinkled appearance & went downhill fast. The vet had no idea what was wrong, although Kathy counseled me that this sometimes happens & that they don't survive it. The vet tells me Fuzzy (my snake) should have been longer & larger by this age of his life (he has not gained weight or length in the 3 months I've had him, despite being a good eater). I will miss him very much! He was a wonderful little guy!

*HUGS* Thats my greatest fear, probably everyones. Im so use to dogs and cats that I have always had, when it comes to my reptiles I worry all the time. Ive had lizards for about 6 years now but still I worry!

it truly is awful. Can the vet do any sort of necropsy?

Also, before you get another corn in the future...I'd toss ALL items and cage supplies for that corn. I always offer that bit of advice to anyone whose snake suddenly or mysteriously dies of unknown causes. There are too many possibilities with the great unknown.

Sincerely,
Jason
