I gave mine about a week to acclimate. I did have to do some cleaning during that time but it just involved coaxing her to another part of the cage. It seemed to work because she's never struck at me. Only hissed and occasionaly 'threw' a coil at me.
I would imagine one of your first goals would be to get her to feed after getting it. In that case I would let it settle in until it feeds. Then you can begin handling it to try to get a 'nice' disposition.
Bored at work

It already has a good disposition, its a K.Haller. I also am at work but today is my last day with my current employer HEEHAAA!! I got a cold Coors and a bottle of Jim Beam black label to celabrate.--Eric--
Last day on the job huh? Coors and Beam? What are you trying to get me to go home sick?lol
If you don't need to handle it than I'd let it go as long as possible. Till it eats at least.
Hey guess what. While I was typing this, my material handler came into my office and said he found 4 kittens in a gaylord of material he opened up here at work. I don't know where the mother is but there's no way she's here because the gaylord was brought over by a truck from another building. You think I can feed them to my snake? They're almost certain to die since they're not yet weened.
If they have parasites I could freeze them to take care of that.
They are kind've cute though.
Any thoughts?

You would not happen to be in the plastic bussiness would you???
Yep. Injection molding.
Arik
Forget about the kittens. I called animal control and had them picked up. I figured that even if I killed them, the chances of me talking my girlfriend into letting me put them in the freezer would be pretty remote.lol.

I would wait until after you feed it...I would wait at least a few daws to feed it. I would handle it a day or two after it feeds(more depending on meal size). This is a Haller signature series anaconda so I bet you don't have too much to worry about...I traveled two hours with my anaconda today and forgot a heat source...it is going to the watson show in the morning for mark petros to look at it and give it a 100% probing..then i am getting a set of probes because i don't like relying on friends to probe all my stuff anymore (or the source i buy it from...i have gone too long without a probe set)...it cooled way down and when i was trying to move the snake and get it to a place to hide and keep a little warmer...i got nailed. So now i feel terrible because this snake does not bite unless it is really really ticked off and it takes a good transporting and cooling down to get that way. I hope it makes it through the weekend...i got the 20 long tank i used by a heat vent but i don't think it will be good enough. wish me luck folks.
