Hi
I have a dumb newbie question. What species of caiman make the best pets as far as size and aggresivness? I was thinking of getting a couple of babies, and I want something that won't try to kill me when it gets older. Thanks!!

All crocodilians tend to be agressive. The dwarf caiman is the smallest species, and so would be the best choice for the majority of hobbyists.

Then I'd stick with a puppy or kitty...all crocodilians are aggressive.

I realise all crocodilians aggresive. I just wanted to know what species of caiman tends to be, in general, less aggresive. I have had 35 years experience in reptiles, I am just a newbie when it comes to croc species. Not interested in puppies or kitties (most cats I have met are far less trustworthy than crocs anyways)!
If your looking for non egression, the American Alligator although much bigger then a dwarf (much, much bigger) they tend to be less aggressive then Caimans, but as we all know, crocodilians do not make good pets for newbies, they require a lot of TLC and caution.
