Quail Feeders

bast Jun 15, 2003 09:23 PM

A couple of months ago I purchased some feeders from RodentPro,
per the advice of many of you...thank you. Elvis (my Arg. B&W)
greedily downed the mice. The quail were a bit big at the time.

He grew and is now just a hair over 5 lbs. and 3 feet /-. He
has eaten a couple of the quail now and the last one pretty
quickly/easily. Now he seems to be uninterested in the quail.
Granted he was introduced to his new summer home (See post below)
and the weather was cool and wet. It has been just over a week
and he has eaten only a single chicken egg.

He was getting a larger meal (couple or 3 mice or qauil or
ground turkey) and then an egg in the afternoon. BUT he was
growing VERY much then. His appetite seemed to taper with
his growth. I have been assured that this is normal and soon
he will spurt again to full size.

Any thoughts,

Brian

PS: How do these simple questions end up so long?

Yeah me too man, one of mine grew fast up to about 3' then slowed down. My other one shot past her in length and hasn't slowed at all. I noticed the one that slowed down kept eating a lot and got really fat, but now she doesn't eat as much, still looks fat, and is growing some just not as rapidly. It's been over a month and she still eats everyday just not as much as before. I think your frozen food should be good for 6 months. Maybe some tegus just don't get as big (3 1/2 feet or so).
