I am pet sitting an albino burmese (she is beautiful and sweet, but I can't afford to keep her) and she has mites. I also own five other snakes and two Iguanas. If I'm careful can I avoid the mite transfer (I have her here for two weeks) or should I expect them all to have mites soon?

If you do not thoroughly treat the burmese then I would say you are going to have mites throughout your collection. Get a can of proventamite and follow the directions. treat the burmese, its cage, and the surrounding areas. Once the true owner gets back make him refund your money for the provent a mite and get him to learn more about the proper care of burms. Mites are common and sometimes unavoidable but they are relatively easily erradicated and to bring a snake into another persons collection that is infested with them is careless and irresponsible. Hope this helps, todd

Thanks, it does...but the vet I called advised me not to treat her in case she would have a reaction. I believe I'm just going to have to treat everybody and do a massive cage cleaning
