Hi All,
I'm a new owner of two young Rhacs (cresteds). I've done all the research but i have a question about what kind of substrate to use and how long. I was told just to use cypress mulch, but with how small the lil guys are i'm afraid they might get some in their mouth and choke on it. Just wanted to get some feed back before i actually do anything, thank you.

Paper towels are cheap ,totally safe no choking worries ,dont look as bad as yould think ,are far easier to clean up, far easier to find your geckos when your sure they have ''escaped''(These lil guys can hide behind a match stick), and dont offer the crickets much cover to escape in. Try them first... you can get fancy with thier climbing sticks and plants.

Hey, I'm the girl that was talking with you in front of LLL on Saturday. I'm glad to hear you got some babies! I picked up a few at the show myself.

As the other poster said, paper towels work pretty well. They make cleaning quite a bit easier, and no worries with choking for the little guys. It also makes seeing their waste easier so spotting G-I problems can be done faster.

Good luck with your cresteds!

HEY!! I meant to tell you i live in the Durham area, near you, but i go to school in charlotte. Oh by the way what else did you pick up?? I saw the orange baby you had, I ended up finding my second from "Osborne Exotics", and the other from LLL. I even picked up a Cage from Doug Barr at the herp cages booth, he gave me a real good deal. Keep posting more, its great to talk to you again, who knows if one of us lucks out with females, we can share the males haha. Keep in touch.
