on central american banded geckos i can tell u everything, they are native to southern mexico down to Brizil, they sometimes are called nicarogwa (or how ever you spell it) banded geckos. They are a sim tropic geckos so they like a relitive humitity just enough to keep the ground moist but to socked. I use shoes boxes with holes drilled in the side to house mine. I typically put two females in a 15 qt contaner, but with alot of hid aways, kept at about 78 to 80 degress with under tank heat as there nocturnal and don't need a light. They typically eat crix and mealworms.
Mainly their humity is what people have problems with and their geks have sheding conditions. These little gecks typically go for 20 to 35 dollors but it depends where u live.
The elegants i have heard are just the smae to keep but I haven't been able to acquire a pair so i wouldn't know too much on them sorry.
cheek the care sheet section of kingsnake for more infor on banded geckos, and most gecko care books have a small section on these cool little geks.

I have a C. mitratus. He is a wonderful little gecko. I purchased him at a Petco for $40. I would recommend only purchasing them from a breeder, however I do not know of any. Let me know if you have any more care questions that weren't already answered.
