It is just so heavy, and I'm not sure it will even fit in my bath tub. Obviously I'm going to wipe it out with a cloth, but should I use bleach as well?

Na, nothing on it that will hurt the leo's. You could just wipe it with a wet rag if you think it would help.
No need to risk breacking it on the way to the bathroom,lol.
It all depends on where you get it, if its an open tank and not in a box or in plastic i would, but if not nah.
