I am leaving in the morning for a 7 day stay at the beach and my father is feeding my geckos but does not feel comfortable taking care of the eggs that are due to hatch now so what do you guys suggest? They are being kept at 80 for 50 days I really need all the suggestions I can get

what is the reason you dad can't "take care" of the eggs? if theyre due to hatch any day, all he really needs to do is keep them steady, and move them to their set up when they hatch.

Here are some ideas that may help convince your Dad to help with the hatchlings. 1st, make it as simple as possible by getting the hatching cages ready. Explain that he should check the incubator once a day, and if there are any baby lizards running around, that the baby should be placed in the hatchling cage. I use the small deli cups for incubating, it makes it simple for me to take the lid off and place the whole container into the hatchling’s new cage, and then let him walk out on his/her own. The other thing you guys need to worry about is humidity; your little hatchlings need to have their humid hides misted daily. Just walk your Dad through the process once or twice until he understands. The little ones probably wont eat in their first week, so I wouldn’t worry about food for the babies; make sure your father understands that too (my dad thinks everything should be eating all the time, mealworm aliens for example). Good luck and wish your father a happy Father’s Day!

If you have a reptile shop near you (or a breeder) they will sometimes incubate your eggs for you. You can ask around and see if anyone will be willing to take your eggs for a bit. Or find a friend who has experience with leos and leave the incubator, a already made home for the babies, and a care pamphlet with them.
