do you have a picture of the hatchling's carapace?
The adults sometimes don't show their stripes when old or covered with algae.

EWll the Carapace is smooth, and solid black with no stripes.

No, they are being removed from a Fish Farm and sold to the Asian Food Market. Thats where all my turtles come from. I buy some before the Food Market gets them, in order to save them from the pot. I get common Musks as well, but when I got these I had no idea what they were.

they're found in almost all of Arkansas except for the very northern section.
