Interesting animal. Looks to be some type of an IMG. I have an adult female that looks very similar. Good luck with him.

How big is he? Any estimate as to how old? I've got an imported female that might be heading to looking like him with age, hard to tell. Mine looked like a clean black and white ghost around 600 grams but by 1,200 grams is getting more black and odd yellow. Don’t know if she will eventually get that dark or not.

Hi Randy!

I don´t know how old he is...i´ve got this male since 2000 ...also 4 years. He is a small ball and weights ca. 600 grams. For 4 years he looks like a normal ball. No pigmention was changing. And now.. 4 years later he looks like the pics.

Did this change happen suddenly with one shed or over time? Did he have patternless sheds at any point like this one?

Thanks!

Thanks for the info.

Now breed him and let us know if it's inheritable!

My female thats similar is 1800 grams now and has stopped changing too. She's got the butter yellow flecking going on too.

How about an updated picture? I forget, did she change suddenly and where there ever clear sheds involved? Just trying to figure out what mine might have started out like and where she might be going.

I'll try and get a pic up today. I don't have a baby picture of her. i did a trade with a friend of mine for her . He just described her as very different looking as a baby and then she proceeded to darken up. She was a captive born from NERD and was a co-dominant "leftover". She bred to a pastel this year but didn't take. The pastel was a little young at the time.

I just took a couple of pics. The flourecent light kind of washes her out but you get the idea.
