Safe to put together?

coolj9688 May 02, 2004 11:18 AM

I have a 15-16 inch male who is slightly over 200 grams and is 9 months old. I also have a female who is 13-14 inches long and 81 grams, only around 5 months old. I want to put them together for only ONE WEEK. Would this be safe? I dont want the female to get pregnant, is that a risk?

Thanks,
Justin

Yes, it is a risk, also they may fight, and since she is so much smaller she could easily be seriously injured. Don't put them together for even a few minutes, mating only takes a few seconds and then it is too late.

I agree. She is way too small and young to even risk it.

Early pregnancy is a very big risk if you put them together now. I wouldn't do it.
