Hello,
I keep my pyros at 77-80. I actually keep all my snakes at that temp-(rosys,hondurans, cal.kings, pyros, etc) and they do fine like that. Some of my pyro males I dont even keep on the heat tape at times.Hopethis helps,

Thanks. Oh ok 77 to 80. When you mention you sometimes dont keep your male pyros on heat tape what is the room temp?
I am thinking of a pyro but like to research them first ofcourse and it seems they prefer cooler but wasnt sure of ideal temp that would be ok.
77 to 80 will be what I use on one side than but cooler on the other side?
thanks.

Hi Lia,
The males that are not on heat tape are in a room where the air temp is set to 77-80 too. I think that snakes actually prefer it a little cooler than hotter. I hear people saying they keep their snakes at 85, if its 85 on one side and 80 on the other I guess thats pretty ideal. But mtn.kings defintley like it cooler. I know people have kept them at 75 at all times and they thrive like that too. I know they probally ad heat to a gestating female but other than if you if you shoot for 75-80 for a mtn.king I think that will be perfect.
