Here goes...Rich Ihle got a boa through a pet shop a long time ago, through breeding and proving the trait he now produces the Salmon boas. One very unique trait of the Salmon boa is that the iris of the eye has that unmistakable red slash through it. My question is do other boas have that same red slash and not produce hypos? The boa I had posted before asking about it being a possible hypo, has rusty red eyes, that I am questioning. Maybe they are more brown, and I just do not see it correctly, but I am wanting to know what everyone else thinks here. I am wondering how the Salmon gene is expressed. Does it always have phenotype to match? Or could the gene be brought out through breeding?
