Green Anoles do not eat vegetables at all. They are strictly carnivours. Always varied their diet with crickets, earthworms, meal worms, and flys. Feed everyday a couple bugs. The cage, usually glass, should be set up best with a 20 gallon (long) tank. They are arboreal so a 20 gallon (tall) tank will work fine too. Fresh water is always needed. Males and females can be identified easily by size. Males can get 8 inches long with a large dewlap (throat-fan). Females have small dewlaps and hardly ever exceed 5 inches. Do not put 2 males in the same cage. They should have realistic plastic plants in alot of areas in the cage. They need these plastic plants to feel comfortable or they may die from stress or turn brown alot. There are suction cupped plants that you can buy at the store and stick to the cage. Of course a heat source is required. Just get a regular reptile heat lamp and put it on one side of the cage. They should always have an area to get away from the light. The bottom should be newspaper. The reptile mulch, animal bedding, and artificial reptile grass should be avoided. Gravel can be used but often mixes with feces. Good luck and hope it helps.
