Hello, I would like to aquire antivenom and have it at hand in the event of a bite. Can anyone give me step by step procedures on where to aquire the approriate applications for the proper permits for importing antivenim in the USA and any other permits that may be needed. Also can anyone provide me with the proper websites on each of the agencies if the applications can be acquired online. Also any information that is relavent to my post will be greatly appreciated. This is deadly serious and not an invitation for starting obsurd fights. Sincerely, Tony Baez.

If you go to the Southeastern Hot Herp Society web site (SHHS), and go into the files, they have the forms and process to get A/V. Todd

Hello, I am grateful to say that I have printed out both applications FDA 1571 and FDA 1572 but I was unable to print out the instructions on the SHHS website. For some reason my computer keeps telling me there is an error and the instructions do not show up on the screen. Does anyone know how to go around this problem or know how to succesfully fill out the applications. I want to make sure it is filled out properly in order to avoid delays or problems. I had no problem downloading and printing it a few weeks ago...you should try emailing the webmaster, Chris Harper, and he probably can help you.

Are you referring to the 1571 instructions or the PDF file on the Overall Procedure? If the latter, I have the document in MS Word format as well, and can email it too you.

I believe this is the Aphis help line # (301)-734-3585, or call (301)-827-3524 (John Capen), and they will tell you whatever you need to know.
These #'s are from 2000, but they should still be the same.

I personally want to compliment you on taking the initiative to aquire possibly the most important thing when keeping exotic hots! It's tough, but people here and on other forums can help you. I'm going through the process myself, so I'm in the same boat as you...
