Lamisil effects on "Yellow Fingal Infection"=> my expierences

Zach_MexMilk Jun 15, 2003 11:09 PM

Hi all. As you may have known from past post, I presumed my BD has "yellow fungal infection" and I treated it with Lamisil Jock Itch Cream. Well, Here are the results after about 5 days:

1. BD went into almost immediate shed.
2. Yellow areas are shedding off in huge pieces, with the yellow coming off.
3. BD is eating alot (i am now dusting food with Rep-Cal Calcium/Vit-D3)

So, Maybe the "yellow fingus" was actually something on the oter layer of skin. He didnt seem to shed his belly skin in awhile, so i gues the yellow was a build up of dead skin.

Thanks for all who helped. I now have one healthey and happy Yellow...err..I mean CLEAN looking BD

Be carefull with that fungus. I would keep that dragon seperated from any other dragons. The yellow fungus does shed off with the use of lamisil. It still might come back though. Lamisil is a way to treat the exterior skin. This stuff can be internal. Treat any new spots right away, and watch for dark spots, and a wrinkleing of the scales. Be safe rather then sorry. That fungus is no joke.

Also make sure any thing that was in contact with that dragon, not be used for others. Practice good hand washing before touching any other dragons. My first dragon I got had signs of the fungus. So far so good. She is now clear externaly, and is eating, putting on weight. Seems better, but I can't take any chances. I would be so upset if any of my other dragons got it. Good Luck I hope in your case it was just unshed skin, but that is what the fungus looks like, and it does peel off like it.

Yea, i am being extremly careful with it. Even though it is my only dragon, I still watch out for anything and wash up before handeling other herps. Thanks for the info-Zach
