Planting a uroplatus tank....

djxmasterchief May 02, 2004 05:52 PM

Hey there,

Im thinking of getting a mossy leaftail or a satanic, but I want the tank to look pretty. How do I get the brnaches and stuff to grow lichens and moss? And what kind of plants can I plant that will be attractive and easy to take care of, as well as provide benefits to my gecko? And last question, I promess; what kind of leaftail do you guys recommend? Thanks,

Tony

dont get one of these unless you're willing to put in a lot of time. other than that, i would choose according to the size of enclosure youre willing to get. henkelis and such are bigger and thus should have bigger tanks. i've only worked with phantasticus the past year, and theyre pretty touchy and not a good idea to handle, more of something to look at. phantasticus and ebanaui are much smaller than others and can be kept in much smaller enclosures. i just got a trio of pietschmanni, keeping them in a 30 gal tall when they all check out ok. just make sure whatever you get, treat em good!
