This Unicolor hates Meeses to Pieces!

mousekiller May 02, 2004 05:59 PM

Here is a pic of My Unicolor Cribo (Female) She is only a little over 4 foot now, but growing rapidly! She is just now getting adjusted to handling... She doesn't really like people but I guess she has figured out that I ain't going away so she might as well put up with me!

Enjoy,

Scott

Thanks for the pic. There seems to be a lot more variation in this species then the names might indicate. I have a female that has much more variation in the color between the scales and much more black flecking on the scales. In some ways she's not very pretty, but the yellow between the scales makes me think she's getting better looking as she gets older - we should all be so lucky!

yes, this sub does vary in appearance somewhat but one thing seems to remain constant about them, esp. males.......they all lighten in shading as they get older. my oldest, biggest male [now about 8 y.o.] is still getting lighter and barely resembles himself from his earlier pics. he used to be a tan color but is now more of a yellowish gold. after they pass the 4' mark, the shifting of shades starts to become more and more apparent........

Interesting - I'm trying to think of what other snakes continue changing color at this age? My 6 ft mail is red-tailed really - and my female was a uniform dull tan but, as I said, is starting to look rather pretty all the sudden.

Now if they would just eat! They both gave up food for some reason - haven't eaten for a month, though I try every week.
