Bullfrog caretakers.. need your opinion...

Laurah Jun 15, 2003 11:30 PM

Hi All. I need to know what color eyes Bullfrogs have. I've looked up several pictures on the Google Image search and I've found that basically they have a golden-ish eye color, but in other pictures I've seen them green. I'm working on a frog doll and I don't want to make a mistake in choosing its eye color. I have toads and their eyes are gold, but I don't come from an area that has any frogs other than tree frogs and so I don't know typically what color bullfrog eyes are- the doll is based loosely on a typical bullfrog body. So my question is: What color are bullfrog eyes? Golden or Green? Also, is there any signifigance to whether or not a frogs eyes are green or gold such as its sex? (A young girl once told me females have gold eyes. ???) Thanks so much. Your opinion means alot! -Laurah

Both of my bullfrogs have golden eyes, but in making a doll use the colour that is most attractive with the fabric you constructed it with.

Now one of my bullfrogs has a dark green skin colour (very very dark) while the other one has a very light skin green and he is very loud and I like that.

Thanks for your advice! I think I"m going with gold eyes. The green just don't stand out as much. I was just worried about not being atomically correct. An artist has got to do their homework (most times). Thanks again. -Laurah
