How many of you QUIT with BP's,switched to BOAS then back again?

I think the most frustrating thing is to get these buggers to eat. You go thru this year after year with hatchlings - regardless if they were CBB or CH imports. Yet they are so interesting with so many surprises still coming out of Africa that you never really know the genetic background of the imports (hence the temptation). So you tear your hair out each season and swear you're giving up on BPs and just keep boas.

So you get into the world of boas and find out about morphs but their morphs are not always a pure species. Then you find yourself conflicted as to whether or not you want to keep local-specific or mutts or go back to these damn bps and hope you don't lose all the pastels that won't eat or the possibly weird ones that you'd like to prove out one day. You just want to shove the rat pinkies down their throat like you would your worst enemy in high school but remember that you have to be as gentle as possible. And as you look into their rack in the morning to see the uneated f/t or f/k food, you wonder what it would be like to just own boas!

This is my brother's girlfriend with my Dumeril's boa. My boa addition was not planned, however-she's a rescue that I couldn't turn down because of her history.

I always had BPs. I got into boas but got out - too damn big and breeding females get real nasty. I traded my last Argentine boa for another chondro. I like the smaller animals, they are easier to manage. Besides, the local pet store freaks when you show up to by 15 adult rabbits every 1 - 2 weeks.

Started my hobby with a pair of normal ball pythons, then get into boa world (see my login name...) Kept a pair or two of different localities. Getting tired with the pure v.s. morph war. Sold all my localities, and concentrate on morph - boas and balls. Right now, 14 snakes - 8 boas (Hypo, Albino and het, Fineline) and 6 ball pythons (Albino and het, het piebald.)
