err...i know what fat pockets are...i just thought that only when geckos are exposed to waxworms and stuff that have a high fat content do they develop it..or maybe im wrong...ive never heard that it was a fat storage thing....my male had that too..and that was when i fed it 4 waxworms to jumpstart it to eat...and no its not addicted...but ive never seen any fat pockets develop when fed purely mealies and crix...but like i said..i won't argue with a pre-vet student...

however they're also one of the most expensive...they can also be difficult to keep since they do make silk, and require special feed.

I have been feeding my leos butterworms as a treat (only because they are so expensive). Butterworms have twice as much calcium as any other feeder insect. Another good thing about them is that if you keep them in the fridge they can last 1-4 months, without food. They are imported from Chile and only eat a certain type of bush over there. They also do not turn into anything like betteles, moths...

Here is the site I get my feeders from. Rob has a good description of butterworms on it.

Sorry to get off topic.
