BTS fish/spinach tolerance

antonm Jun 16, 2003 12:10 AM

I have heard from some people that fish are ok in cat food or dog food whereas others have said that fish should be avoided. I also heard good and bad things about spinach.......any input would be appreciated.

Spinach blocks calcium absorption in reptiles. Its not a good thing to feed on a regular basis, if at all. My bearded dragons never get it. better choices are kale, collards, mustard greens, turnip greens, parsley, cilantro, swiss chard, etc. Lettuce isnt great either because it has very little nutritional value. Usually what i do is i buy a bag of precut collards and then add to that with other veggies, but sometimes for a treat i get my dragons a bag of feild greens with no lettuce in it. They really go for that.

Hope that helps a bit,
Jamie
