Blood Python Pic

professorkenny May 13, 2003 03:19 PM

Here is my two year old Malaysian blood. It doesn't have a trace of red on it, just a little orange on it's neck. Oh well maybe someday it will turn red, but it is more than content to sit and eat and sit and sit and sit some more.

There's something wrong with his eyes. It looks as if he either has mites in them pretty badly or he was once so infested with them that they caused some serious scars and physical abberations around his eyes. To check him for mites just grasp his head and neck firmly (bloods tend to hate this) and press a thumb nail gently against the scales bordering his eyes. Mites if present should be forced out by the pressure of your thumb tip.

I know about his eye problem. He doesn't have mites, but he was a rescue that I took in several months ago so he may have had them in the past. He was cared for horribly, and his eyes have looked like that ever since I had him. His eyes were so wrinkled when I got him he could hardly see. He gets better every shed and he should be shedding again very soon. Appreciate the concern.
