update on possible gravid brb!

dan_binderup May 03, 2004 06:20 AM

Hey everyone.
my female is still not eating, and she is always on the hot spot, but i haven't seen any belly-up positions for the last two month. do all brb lie on their side when gravid. i heat the cage with a heat cable, so it is "under-heat".
feel free to comment on the subject!

best Regards
Dan Binderup

The non feeding part and laying on the hot spot is probably a more reliable indicator than the rolling over. My females lay in really weird positions even when they are not gravid. Common boas sometimes won't exhibit the rolling over until the last month before they are going to drop. Good luck!

Dan,
I don't think laying on the side and being belly up will guarantee your female is gravid. My female hasn't been observed in strange positions since Jan and actually is much larger than she was the last time. She does stay in the warmest places and hasn't eaten since Dec 31. I have stopped offering food because I think she is gravid. Last time I kept thinking she was...then not the entire time.

Pretty exciting...and kind of nerve wracking trying to do everything perfectly.

Best of luck to you,
Linda
