Eggs shell for igs?

Flavia Guimaraes May 03, 2004 07:18 AM

A Brazilian friend of mine was complaining that all the igs that he buys die after a few weeks/months.I asked him to describe his husbandry methods. He did that.Everything seemed fine to me but the fact that he uses to give ground eggs shells to all his igs.The same that died a few weeks/ months later. What do you think? Thanks!

Igs are herbivores and should get all their calcium needs met in their food. I don't think egg shells are a good idea.
