stick to the topic instead of telling ppl in one line headers that u won
won what?
WOW that was harsh. And pretty rude. This is an anaconda forum and those were pictures of his anaconda he loves and it really does not kill you to skip over that post if you dont like it. Those are some nice pictures and the "I won" was obviously a joke with him holding his "prize anaconda" over his head. I believe Arik got his anaconda only a few months ago(sorry if i am wrong about this Arik, thats just what I picked up from your posts when you were talking about just getting the anaconda) and does not have the experience of Kelly Haller and dfr, or even mr. anaconda and myself who are far from kelly and renee's esperience(it takes a full spectrum of experience and knowledge for a forum to work, we cant have all know it alls) to answer everyones questions but does put some nice imput from time to time. It is a learning game and I enjoy seeing someone as excited as Arik about anacondas. It is way better than the ATB forum that has a new post about every few days, and even then, its a lot of pictures of peoples animals and many times, questions were not even being answered, I made a post commenting about that and it has improved. I say keep posting about whatever you want people, this forum does great with topics and the people who have answers and input always respond. Its ok to have a few pointless fun posts as long as the forum does not get abused.
You are right(I've only had her about 4 months). I have kept large snakes for a long time however. I have decided, after getting her, that condas are the snake for me. I wont be keeping anything else.(except my g/f's baby burm)
So, while I don't have 'conda experience' like alot of the other people here, I do still have a lot of 'reptile' experience.
Thanks again
Arik
` This is a nice forum. Most of us keep Anacondas, so we're definitely crazy as HELL, but so far, we've been pretty civil.
`
` These are definitely pix of an Anaconda, and keeper. That sounds like the topic to me and, if you have an Anaconda that will allow you to handle it that freely, you have won, dammit.
` The critter is obviously well cared for. Also, any large, healthy constrictor has to be content with its circumstances to allow itself to be handled that freely. The snake in that picture is plenty large enough to express its opinion, quite formidably, if it doesn't like what's going on.
` I have a big male Yellow who often gets too excitable. I sometimes hold him over my head. For some reason, it calms him. Pushing the envelope of how much a large Boid will let you get away with is a good way to get a snake, the right snake, really tame and compliant. After all, our Anacondas are going to get large, it's a good idea to get them used to handling while young.
` Besides all that, he's posting pictures. It takes time and some talent to get pix onto the Internet, in viewable format. I, for one, appreciate and enjoy seeing them.
` So I say, keep posting that nonsense, arik !
