I recently collected three San Diego gophers and would like some help figuring out the approximate age of the animals.
The largest is just under five ft. and the smallest is just under four ft.
The area I found them in is heavily populated by rodents (gophers, rats, and field mice).
All three appear very healthy and robust.
My second question is; could this be a breeding group? They were all found in the same shallow burrow, which I thought was kind of odd. They are currently in separate quarantine cages so I haven’t seen any copulation.

Thanks much for any advice. Byron.

Hey man I dont know if you have read any of my posts on sd gophers but I'm in the same situation accept I've only got 1. They are the coolest snakes. Anyway dispite that rambling i have a good estimat since mine is four feet and my vet/ friend puts its aproximate age at 3 years. At full length it'll be six feet if it's in the right conditions.
Good luck dude. PS where are you located at? I'm in Temecula/ bottom of Riverside county right above SD county sand Fallbrook.
