A female I didn't even think was gravid just laid eggs. The odd thing is some of the eggs are"strung"together like sausages. I am not expecting much, I'm incubating them anyway. Has anyone experienced anything like this?
All the best,
Perry

From what I've heard, slugs (infertile eggs) are sometimes linked together like this, while good eggs aren't.

Both good and bad eggs can be strung together with tiny little cords, making them look like little sausages. If there is not a problem with it, I will normally leave them like that, but I have also cut them apart too with no ill effects. As long as the eggs look good then there should be fine either way, just don’t try and pull them apart, you could tare the egg case.
Good luck

I had only ever heard of bad eggs being strung together.
Good to know.

Perry:
Here is a clutch from last year or the year before. They all hatched except the two obviously bad ones. I often do not cut them apart when they're strung out like this, but it doesn't hurt to. There is no association between these connected strings of eggs and 'bad eggs'. I don't know exactly why they do this, but see if a few times a year.
