What Constitutes a "Lavendar" Leo??

misswindom May 03, 2004 05:05 PM

Would my lil cricket lover be considered a Lavendar, or High Yellow, or just Normal?

I thought HYs don't have spots on their back legs? Or is that an old classification for High Yellow?

High yellow is a color morph. So as long as the gecko has a good amount of yellow, it's a high yellow.

Then there are pattern morphs, so if it had a jungle pattern as well, it would be a high yellow jungle.

The animal pictured is a high yellow.

Yea, I've always considered any leo with bright yellow a HY, but I've always been told different too, heh.

Here's my female that I've always called a HY

Containing more than normal amounts of yellow with reduced melanin. LOL! Just kidding. But yeah thats a high yellow most likely in my book.

What constitutes a Lavendar Leo? What does it have to have to be considered Lavendar?

Oh, and the leo I posted is Braeden, one of my males..

I'm not quite sure exactly what a lavander is, but I think that my male is one. That's his pic up there when I first got him. The reason I think so is because he's yellow is obviously very dull and his grey parts are the color lavander, lol. Of course he looks like this now

but he's still fairly lavander.

That first pic is about what Braeden looks like. He's got dull yellow, but where it's not, it's lavendar.

I need to take some newer snapshots of him!

Here's him again from a different angle.
