corns VS balls dispositions/temperment

Which of these two snakes are the most fun to interact with? After keeping a dog I enjoy animals that are fun to interact with. Which would you say is more of a joy to handle and interact with each day? I

I don't have a ball python, but I've read a lot about them. (I was originally going to get one as my first snake.)

Corn snakes will move through your hands pretty much the whole time you are holding them. I've held quite a few ball pythons and they pretty much just lay there.

Corn snakes are often out cruising their cages around dusk. I've heard that ball pythons pretty much just hide in their cages ALL day, although there are exceptions with both species.

If you are getting a captive born baby of either then both are good snake choices. Corns are more active and are more affordable for the different color morphs out there, an albino ball python is still thousands of dollars. Corns also do not need the specialized heat that a Ball will need. A ball python does have the exotic look and gets a bit more impressive in size but still not too big to handle.
As far as snakes and interacting…. Well snakes in general would prefer not to interact. Even the most tame snake must be in a panic whoever you are holding it. Some get very use to being handled and some people swear that their snakes show enjoyment out of being held, but I have always wondered what they think when we take them out to hold them?
The choice is really going to be yours to make.
Good Luck

Boas make great pets also.If you want a snake that is active in your hands, shoulders, legs, etc a boa is a darn fine choice. My Guyana's have never struck once ever.Im not saying I would scent my face with a rat and press my luck.Like Hoppy said I doubt any snake wants to be cuddled.I dont handle my snakes much anymore than I have to and I think this makes them happy.
I will tell you this about boas,if you like a good work out try holding a 20-30lb always moving boa....Paul.

I have 2 BP's, a corn snake, and a common boa...
I find them all enjoyable, in different ways. If I want to sit on the couch and watch T.V., or play a video game, my BP's are great, because they will hang out around my neck, or on my lap... and they'll stay there for a long time (great neck massage too). If I want to hold a more active snake, I get out the corn... who is right there every night... ready to get out of her enclosure... as soon as I open it, out she comes, ready to go. She rarely sits still, and it seems like the more active she is, the more she poops! She's very cool though... climbs through my fingers, and winds herself in my hair. I can't really "relax" with her though, because she is way to active.
If I want the best of BOTH worlds, I get out the boa. Man, is she cool! Active and curious... but laid back and calm. Slow moving... but she MOVES, unlike the BP's. I can't actually play a video game with her around my neck, but she's docile enough that when I hold her, she has a calming effect on me. The corn is SO easy to take care of... temp and humidity requirements aren't as demanding as the BP's. Although, with a lot of research, it would be quite simple to take care of any of these species. Sorry dear... it's up to you!
