As far as I know it has not been done, and I highly doubt it could be done so successfully that they bear live hatchlings.

I doubt a male ball python would even see a 12' female burm as a mate. Or vice versa. But lets assume that we're talking about dwarf burms here, because there isn't too significant of a size difference there. I suppose they'd mate with each other well enough, but would the eggs be fertile? If so how messed up genetically would the babies be?

Do you really think a 4 pound ball should breed to a 60 pounds burm? I doubt it'd work successfully. But we'll never know until someone tries it.

That would be like mixing you with a monkey.

That's actually something I've always wondered. I think that if it was ball to female burmese it would work. But I agree that he probably wouldn't even consider her a possible mate. If I had the money I would grab a female dwarf burm & try it that way. I was always on edge about the thought of doing it the other way. A regular burm to a big female ball seems more risky. I don't if it it would or not but I was always afraid the eggs may be bigger than the ball can handle since it's a mix they may still be larger than a normal ball. I don't know if the eggs are determined by the female or the genes involved or both but just in case I would go about it the other if I was going to try. I don't know to much about burms (god I want one but don't have the space to care for something that massive) but maybe if you have a male ball that's larger than average & a female burm a little past minimum breeding size maybe you'd get lucky. I would also try stimulating them with partners of the same species to get the mood going then try putting them together & roll the dice. please let me know if you pull it off I would def love to see the results

I think the only feasible breeding would be from a ball to a dwarf burm....if in fact the dwarfism has been truly determined yet. From what I know its only been bred once to determine if its genetic or not. A large ball to a small dwarf may be possible but I'm not sure if the genetics would mix accordingly. Its all worth a try if you can do it...just expect a bit of an uproar if it happens...I'm sure there will be many people who wouldn't like it much...but if you want to do it...no ones stopping you. Personally I would just like to see if its possible. Just my 2 cents.

LOL
I have always wanted to try that to. I'm just curious what the offspring would look like. I think it would be cool to have a HUGE ball python if you could breed a big male to a normal female burm.

Was becaused i have a person trying to sell me one. It sounded like a load of bull to me so i ask you, do you still think it is possible and how would you tell whether or not it is?
