Savannah not eating. Please help!

woodensoul May 04, 2004 05:24 AM

My Savannah has been consistently refusing all food I offer him for the past two months. He is losing weight and I am getting worried.

I have taken him to the vet and gotten X-rays. The Vet doesn't think it's constipation but he did say that the X-rays showed a gas buildup and gave me a Maalox prescription for him. He since has eaten once and refused subsequent meals. He has always eaten everything I offer him and looks for more.

I have him in a 6' X 3' X 3' cage with a basking spot of 150 and down to 75 on the cool side, hide spots, deep substrate of which I moisten daily.

What can I do? I don't want to lose my monitor.

Here is a pic of him when he was eating well. He has lost weight since then.

How cool do you let the temp drop at night? It should not be below 80 degrees.

I leave the lights on 24/7 so he always has a gradient of 150 basking to 83 on the cool side. He seems to always hang out on the hotter side. I never see him on the cool side.
